Santa Elena Reserve
overview
As only 1% of all remaining forests on the planet are classified as cloud forests, here you have the opportunity to walk through clouds in a very dense tropical forest. We only care about what we understand so even animals are not something you are going to see in big quantities, you will enjoy and learn the magic of the massive diversity of aerial plants. As well walking enveloped by the virgen cloud forest you can find special species of birds, and some mammals like, white faced capuchin monkeys, coatis, porcupine and could be a sloth.
An additional highlight in Santa Elena reserve are the wonderful view points, since there is a tower rising 5710 feet above sea level where in a clear day can be seen the arenal and volcano, Guanacaste lowlands, tenorio volcano, miravalles, and rincón de la vieja.
A natural history walk to this place would take us to a trip in time to understand the magic evolution of nature.
